MYKROMAG describes itself as a platform for creativity, ‘black and white, with many shades of grey’. As a strong and diverse team, we have realized that there is so much to explore in a world that is black and white, for as there is no color, the focus lies on everything from the smallest detail to the big picture. We aim to show our readers something new and let them form their own opinion as art and style are approached in a fresh and radically distinct manner.
In 2007, Sonny Groo dreamt of creating a fashion, art, and design publication of his own, about new generations in the industry alongside established yet still cutting edge talents. Sonny spent three years laying the groundwork for this project, while building his network and setting himself as a front-runner in the Dutch fashion scene as a stylist, working with Jean-Paul Paula
Since early 2009, as Creative Director of MYKROMAG, I have helped Sonny advance this dream and execute this project as the main creative force in developing our vision, visual identity and content: from the website to the blog, exhibitions, collaborations, a book, and our printed issues. It has been said that our team is unstoppable: In only a year and a half, over 100 profiles, stories, and articles have been created by MYKROMAG and its many contributors from around the world, with a strong readership worldwide…
